• Portfolio Careers

The BCWB Portfolio Careers scheme has supported over 70 clinicians to access education, training and development opportunities since it began in 2018. The scheme is open to all Primary Care Network (PCNs) within the Black Country and West Birmingham footprint and provides a financial incentive to PCNs to upskill their clinical workforce to work differently or expand their current services within their PCN.

Funding of up to £7,500 per applicant is available to all clinical staff (including GPs, nurses, physician associates, pharmacists, FCPs and other ARRS roles), to develop portfolio roles and enhanced patient care. The funding can be utilised to support educational costs, training and supervisory opportunities.

Applications must consider the clinical priorities and population health needs of the applicant’s PCN, and support must be obtained from the PCN Clinical Director. Please see the attached guidance for further details.

Please note the application form has been revised and can be downloaded here.

The next application panel meeting will take place on 16th December, therefore applications must be submitted for consideration by Thursday 9th December.
