My name is Surma Begum and I am completing a Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals.

What is your role?

My role is a Therapy Assistant for an integrated team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. My day to day role would consist of reviewing patients for maintenance therapy, gaining social histories and assisting with transfers and mobility.

What is your role?

I am the Senior Contracts Administrator and Apprenticeship Admin Team Lead for the Apprenticeship Team within People and Organisation Development.

What have you learned during your time as an Apprentice?

Completing an Apprenticeship was, personally, a real achievement. I was motivated to upskill through a structured training programme, putting new skills into practice, stepping outside my comfort zone and gaining more.
